This was my first class of the last period, and Iwas not so happy as I wish could be...but anyways I have to work hard to get not only new experiences,but also good grades. Today`s class was kind disappointed for me because when the class began the students were not there. It was hard to begin a normal class. I think that this was not my best time and my best class. Some things that did not work well were more than the good ones, but I know that we learn something new in every class. I brought 4 activities to be developed, but I couldn`t because of the time. I began late and then I didn`t have those minutes because they had to do something else with the teacher.
These particular students don`t speak much English just like 2 or 3 and they were thirteen. It was hard to begin with the warm-up activity because I only had the half of the class and they had to order some sentences it took more time to do this and they didn`t know several words, anyways I tried to explain the words and they read the sentences the were supposed to order. Something that called my attention was that they didn`t have the pasion or the feeling, not only to learn, but also to teach. They were kind of "calm" in the class or maybe because it was a little bit of grammar phase they got bored. In this class they only worked in pairs because of the activities I bro

I felt really sad at the end of my class not only because of my class, but also because of my grade. I know that I have to accept and improve my teaching techniques and methods.
How diffirent are the groups, aren´t they? I can feel the challenges in each of them.It is more interesting when we find people who make our work more "special" it is normal that we have to find the ways to make them participate,but we can´t avoid their particular personalities.I think that we are trying to do our best and It is normal that we can´t change everything,but if we try with our soul and don´t give up, we should be satisfied because we are learning from everything.
ResponderEliminarCory, don'r feel bad about this. Remember that not all the time you will have to deal with this kinds of people. Unfortunately there are some groups that don't work the way we want them to work, but remember that this is just a "life test".

Take advantage of the people who know something related to English grammar. Some of them are teachers and they can help you to make your class different and even interesting. Don't worry about this.
Please don't forget about the knowledge you have. Any of your students knows what you know, so you have to demonstrate that you are the authority and that you can also be their tutor, and even their friend.
Go ahead my friend, YOU CAN'T BACK DOWN!! YOU ARE A VERY GOOD TEACHER. KEEP IT IN MIND.
I agree with Yannely: You are a good teacher. Remember failure is only part of success. Every one of us has gone through tough experiences because of some groups that are reluctant to work. However, it will help you show yourself that you can do things so much better :)
